FOR Br. DICK MLACK, IT STILL FITS!

Br. Dick Mlack recently tried on his old Phi Delt sweatshirt. To his surprise, and the envy of most of the rest of us, it still fits.

MISSING BR. BILL HIEGART

"... while cleaning out some old files, etc., I ran across one of my old phone/address books.
In it was an address for Hiegart back in the 1991 time frame when he and I used to occasionally talk. He lived in Colorado and I was still in the Dallas area.
I put his address into Mapquest. His house was less than 5 miles from where I now live in Colorado!!! It would have really been great to be so close to him. A shame he is no longer with us.

And I know the two of us would have headed up to Lyon, CO, about 65 miles away frquently. Why Lyon? It is a bluegrass music mecca....and you know how much he liked bluegrass!!"

Br. DICK MLACK TOOK HIS JOB AS SERGEANT AT ARMS VERY SERIOUSLY!

Brother Dick Mlack was born on the 20th of November in Cleveland, Ohio. His family moved to Los Angeles in 1947. Dick attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks and graduated in 1959. Brother Richard Mlack was initiated into the Phi Delta Psi Fraternity in the Spring of 1962. Richard served the Brotherhood as Corresponding Secretary and Sports Chairman of Beta Chapter.
After completing his studies at Pierce College, Dick went into the United States Air Force in 1964 and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska; and the United States Air Force Academy. In 1968, after serving in the Air Force he moved to Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington. He worked in the banking, education, and the oil industry and insurance fields before joining IBM. After 21 years, 4 months, 6 days, a wake up and a breakfast he retired from IBM in March, 2003.
Dick and his wife Connie have been married for 32years. Their daughter Melissa lives in Denver with her husband Vin and Dick and Connie's granddaughter, Faith. Melissa is pregnant with grandchild #2, due in August of 2004. The Mlacks reside in Carrollton, Texas.
In 2004, Dick currently worked part time for his nephew's law firm.

Jerry, too cool to see my Mom, Millie, standing next to Bob Marko. I totally forgot about the Mom's organization that Bob founded.

My Mom and my Dad were big supporters of the Phi Delts. Dad always had odd jobs he wanted done and would hire some of my fraternity brothers, i.e., Don George, Phil Capka. And Marko was a bartender for several of their parties.

Both of them are still alive. Dad turns 95 in July and Mom is 92.

These black and white photos are from a Beta Chapter album c. 1962. The photos were attached by an adhesive that long ago failed. Each time the pages of the album are turned the photos fall out. I am gradually scanning all of the pictures, sending copies to Br. LeRoy Hunt and securing the original photographs in the Phi Delta Psi archives of The Museum of the San Fernando Valley.

Jerry, this was identified as a stag around 1961. I joined in Spring 62, so it is probably in that time frame.
I actually remember the shirt I had on. I loved it and wore it a lot!!
