John wrote in 2004: "I live a great life.  My fiancĂ©e and I dance, camp, travel, attend spiritual retreats, and have fun with the grandkids. Also I am involved with Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, which explains why I recently had to have rotator cuff surgery at Kerlan and Jobe. I am a very lucky fella."

ONCE FIERCE COMPETITORS TO PIERCE COLLEGE PHI DELTS

Once these gentlemen were fierce competitors to the Phi Delta Psi, and to each others' fraternities at Pierce College. Today they are good friends, who take time to share a Bob's Big Boy hamburger. Paul Estavillo, who was once President of Chi Chi Chi invites Phi Delts to join their lunches.

MARDI GRAS AT PIERCE COLLEGE 1967

You can tell a lot about what sorts of artifacts and photographs are arriving to your Museum, by the photographs posted on this blog. Since each in-coming picture gets an identification number and is scanned for our records, blog viewers often get a peek at what is being recorded. The following photographs taken from a photo album kept by Beta Chapter pledges of the Phi Delta Psi Fraternity in the Spring of 1967, allows us to visit Mardi Gras on the Pierce College Campus, 43 years ago.

Student projects, such as the Pierce College Mardi Gras were strongly supported by the school's many fraternities, sororities and special interest clubs in 1967.  (photo number 2070)

A great turn out at Los Angeles Pierce College to honor the life's work of artist Richard Glazer-Danay, our Fraternity Brother. On the folding chair is the hard-hat sculpture Ric made for the Pierce College Foundation. The Foundation, along with The Museum of the San Fernando Valley and Maple Leaf Society of the Phi Delta Psi Fraternity hosted the reception on the Pierce campus.

You could tell that these guys are settled into their seniority, by the fact that there was no spontaneous outburst of "We Are The Phi Delt Raiders............"
