He has been divorced since 1982 and is employed by Spalding Laboratories in Arroyo Grande, a company that markets beneficial insects for pest fly control.  "My job is seasonal as there is no need for "Fly Predators" in the states during winter months.  I've been National Sales Manager for them for the past twelve years."

PHI DELT - TRI CHI POKER STAG 1961

Among the artifacts of the late Danton Burroughs were two Tri Chi fraternity photograph albums. They, as you might expect after 50 years were in pretty bad shape. The photos had been glued onto high acid content paper, and virtually none identified the people in the pictures. On occasion there were processing dates in the margins.
One series of photos was marked "Phi Delt" stag. Reviewing them, many of the young men in the pictures are indeed Brothers of Phi Delta Psi (Beta Chapter). The location of the stag is the Chi Chi Chi house, location unknown. Perhaps some of you may know the Tri Chis or unidentified Phi Delts in these rare pictures.

In the background upper left may be Bros. Al Conahan and Pat Stein.  - Photo 2110

These photographs are in the Archives of The Museum of the San Fernando Valley under Chi Chi Chi.
They are a gift to The Museum from Linda Burroughs in 2010. Click on images to enlarge them. Refer to the photo number when responding to this posting. Your support of the Maple Leaf Endowment Fund and The Museum of the San Fernando Valley is greatly appreciated.
Against the wall with Phi Delt mug is Br. Dave Cox. at the far right is Br. Bill Hiegert.
In the middle front with Br. Fred Hess (with white shirt) at far fight are Brs. Joe Reggio (Phi Delt shirt) and Ray Ross.
I think these are both Tri Chis.

Seated in the foreground with beer stein is Br. Ray Ross.  At the upper right, with Phi Delt beer mug is Br. John Bogdanoff.
I don't know who these guys playing poker are. I doubt if they are Phi Delts because the stakes are too low.

Br. BOGDANOFF PLAYS CAPTAIN DANA

Brother John Bogdanoff is very active in community activities. Here he plays in an historic re-enactment, as Captain Dana.
A re-enactment of the 1850 marriage of Maria Josefa Dana to Henry Tefft highlighted the 10th annual Heritage Day held Sunday at the Dana Adobe in Nipomo.

Dozens of actors in period costumes re-created the wedding of Nipomo founders Capt. William G. Dana and Maria Josepha Dana de Carrillo’s daughter.

Others demonstrated a variety of crafts from the day, from candlemaking and spinning to brickmaking and blacksmithing as vaqueros’ and sailors’ encampments ringed the adobe.

Visitors joined docents to dance to period music, toured the rooms to view restoration efforts and heard an explanation of an archaeological dig recently conducted on the verandah.

The annual celebration is staged by the Dana Adobe Amigos, a nonprofit organization that’s restoring the two-story adobe home and working to create a historical park to re-create a portion of Rancho Nipomo.

BRs. MORTON, WARREN, LOEHR, and BOGDANOFF

Brother Frank Morton was initiated into the Phi Delta Psi Fraternity in the Fall of 1962. He served our Brotherhood as the Master of Rituals and Traditions of Beta Chapter. He is a graduate of Canoga Park High School. After the completion of his studies at Pierce College, he attended the University of Southern California. He graduated in 1968. In 2008 Frank is in the carpet business in Michigan. Frank and his wife Candy live in Lakeport, Michigan.
Brother David Loehr's records are very incomplete. We search long and hard for him in 2006 for our 50th reunion, but never located him. He was a member of our L.A. Pierce College Beta Chapter.
I think Dave was the President of Beta Chapter - any information?

BOB WARREN & JOHN BOGDANOFF CELEBRATE IN T.J.

Bob Warren and John Bogdanoff in Tiajuana to celebrate one of their birthdays in 1965.
Robert Warren was initiated into our Brotherhood in the Fall of 1963 at Los Angeles Pierce College. He lived an amazing life and broke the hearts of all who knew him, when he died so very young.

The son of Ward B. Warren MD, Brother Robert Warren was born on the 24th of April, 1946. He was initiated into the Phi Delta Psi Fraternity in the Fall of 1963. Bob graduated from Pierce College and later from the University of Southern California in 1966. He graduated from the USC School of Law.
In 1972, Brother Warren began his legal practice in the State of Oregon in Medford as Deputy District Attorney. He was appointed circuit court judge (the youngest at that time in Oregon.) Bob became bored with being a judge and left the bench to form a law practice with close friends. The firm won a contract to supply the court with attorneys to defend those who could not afford representation. Generally court appointed attorneys are inexperienced young people just out of law school, but Bob's firm was quite another matter. His colleagues were "bog guns" seasoned lawyers and former jurists. The attorneys were widely called "Warren's Boys."
Bob was married to Patricia Ann Clay. Patty was a Beta Chi Delta at Pierce College. He was married twice more. Bob had two fine sons. One son, Eric is an excellent artist, like his father. The second son, Chris has a rock and roll band. Bob loved rock and roll and was a major Rolling Stones fan. Br. Warren also had a daughter with a girlfriend from his college days.
Bob was an excellent sailor. He owned a 40 foot sail boat named "Clarity." He was aboard his boat in Puerto Vallerta, Mexico when he learned that he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.)
Brother Robert Warren died on the 31st of July, 1992. He was at his home in Jacksonville Oregon with family and friends at his side. Brother Warren was a devout Buddhist.
Brothers Bob Warren and John Bogdanoff were close friends. John believes that Bob visits him yearly to celebrate their birthdays.
"We continue the fun to this day."

PHI DELT TRADITIONS CONTINUE

What does a Phi Delt Brother take an old pal in Texas? Cupids Hot Dogs, of course! Brothers Dick Mlack and John Bogdanoff signal the number of Cupids Hot Dogs finished off.

Brother Bogdanoff claims that this is a traditional Phi Delt Christmas tree.

WHAT Br. JOHN BOGDANOFF HAS TO SAY TO THE BROTHERS

Guess what Br. John is saying here is that the Next Maple Leaf Endowment pitch will have to be in a larger font!
