Br. MIKE MERTENS

Brother Michael Mertens was born in 1944. He is a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California. Mike was initiated in the Beta Chapter of the Phi Delta Psi in the Fall of 1962. Mike worked for Technicolor while in college, and returned to that company later in his career. Until his retirement he was a "color timer" in the film business. He works part time as a "marshall" for a country club overlooking the Sepulveda Pass.
Michael and his wife Kathleetn share five children and four grandchildren. Their son Timothy (Tim) and his wife Genevieve have two children; Mickaela and Jake . Their daughter Christine has a daughter Alyssa. Jennifer, their third child, and her husband Jay have a new baby Samantha. Sons Tyson and Brady are both students and are working.

SMOKER PAMPHLET REVEALS NEW PHI DELT NAMES

Last year, Brother Jerry Berns gave The Museum of the San Fernando Valley a treasure trove of Phi Delta Psi photographs and memorabilia. Among them is this hand made pamphlet for a Beta Chapter Rush Smoker from Fall 1968.

Br. JOHN BOGDANOFF

Brother John Rowland Bogdanoff was born in 1944. John is a 1962 graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in the San Fernando Valley. He was initiated into the Phi Delta Psi Fraternity in the Fall of 1963 and served the Brotherhood as Pledge Master for Beta Chapter in 1965.
John earned his Applied Arts degree at Pierce College in 1966 and a Bachelor of Arts in history degree from California State University Northridge in 1971.
Brother Bogdanoff lives near Pismo Beach in San Luis Obispo County, California. In 1971.

John moved to Oregon but returned to California in 1981. He has been divorced since 1982 and is employed by Spalding Laboratories in Arroyo Grande, a company that markets beneficial insects for pest fly control.  "My job is seasonal as there is no need for "Fly Predators" in the states during winter months.  I've been National Sales Manager for them for the past twelve years."
John is a founding member of the Maple Leaf Trust Fund Scholarship Committee.

Br. FRANK NEMECEK

Brother Frank Nemecek was initiated into the Phi Delta Psi Fraternity in the Spring of 1966. He served the Brotherhood as Pledge Master of Beta Chapter in the Spring of 1961. I believe he became an attorney in Studio City.

CRAIG HUSETH ON THE INTERNET

   
Brother Craig Huseth was born in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Canoga Park High School. Craig was initiated into the Phi Delta Psi Fraternity in the Spring of 1967. Craig served the Brotherhood as President, Vice President, Master at Arms and Pledge Master for Beta Chapter.
After completing his studies at Pierce College, Craig earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, History and Journalism in 1969 from California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo. He later served two of active duty in the United States Army. Brother Craig holds three Masters degrees in Reading, Guidance and Counseling, and in Education Administration.  
For some years, Craig Huseth was the principal of Santa Maria High School.

Br. DON HOUSE RETIRED IN MISSOURI



      After finishing his studies at Pierce College, Brother Donald House attended California Polytechnic University San Louis Obispo.  Don, who was born in January of 1943, pledged the Beta Chapter of our Fraternity in the Fall of 1962. For many years he was the co-owner of a printing shop in Woodland Hills, California. After his retirement, he and his wife Karyn moved to Blue Eye, Missouri. Until full retirement,       
         Don writes that" I was working part time at a local supermarket in Branson, until the leap day tornado of February 29, 2011 blew the store away. Retired full time now, enjoying my time."

         Don and Karyn live at the edge of Tablerock Lake.

The Richard Radcliffe Award was named in honor of Br. Radcliff who founded the Delta Chapter of the Phi Delta Psi Fraternity at Los Angeles City College. It was considered the highest award of the Fraternity, for meritorious service to the Brotherhood.
