Tulip Tree - LACMA 2008
The following messages were sent to our Brotherhood by Jim Reeves and LeRoy Hunt.
Hi all,
I am sorry to be the bearer of sad news. Nancy Gatch fought hard for 14 months, that is probably 8 months longer than the doctors gave her.
I will notify all when we know what the arrangements will be.
She was loved by all who knew her and she will be missed.
LeRoy Hunt
Hi Everyone,
We were called last night at about 1:30 AM by Garrett then Phil, telling us that Nancy passed away last night at about 1 AM. She will be missed by a lot of people. We couldn't go out to dinner anywhere in the communities around us without Nancy knowing someone. She didn't just know them, they knew her and loved her -- women, men, boys, and girls from 15 years old to 80 years old. She had her eccentric ways, but, if anyone was in need, she would always be there to help others. If you were a very close friend, she would call you every day saying "Just checking in." Of course, she was always on the go that must have driven her family crazy at times. Even after knowing that she had an aggressive brain tumor, she kept going here and there, always on the move. She lived her life fully all of the way to end.
We loved her and will miss her terribly! Now, we need to be with her family to help them through this great lose.
Best wishes to you all,
Jim Reeves

Comment from Br. Jerry Olson
If you remember Salt and Pepper from the old frat
days, Nancy was Pepper. Nancy and Phil Gatch were if not literally but figureatively "attached at the hip".

Our deepest condolences to Phil and his family, Diane and I normally walk around the lake at Westlake and maybe a year and half ago there were
two dogs running loose. We herded them up the hill and they happened
to be Nancy's and Phil's..They had escaped through a gate. I had not seen Nancy for years. Life is so short. I would really appreciate knowing
when the services are going to be held...

A message from Br. Bob Malone
This is just terrible, our hearts and prayers go out to Nancy, Phil and the
family. I'm so glad we all got to see each other at the reunion.
