THE LOSS OF Br. ART AROCHA

Br. Jerry Berns called me this morning to relate the loss of our Fraternity Brother Art Arocha.
Born Sergio Arturo Arocha in Mexico City, Art moved with his family to Los Angeles where he graduated from Lincoln High School. He was initiated into the Beta Chapter of Phi Delta Psi at Pierce College in the Fall of 1961.
After college, Br. Arocha began the manufacturing and distribution of leather goods. He and his wife Carmen sold that business and purchased a ranch in Mexico where he lived for many years.
Art stayed in touch with Jerry Berns, who learned of his passing this morning. Jerry describes Brother Art Arocha as the model example of the man who would come to a Fraternity Brother's aid without any excuses. He will be greatly missed.
Thanks for being part of our lives Arturo.

Br. JIM POWERS LEADS SEARCH AND RESCUE IN HAITI

If you have been watching main stream news, you'll have seen many stories about the Los Angeles Country Search and Rescue Team that is being deployed to the Republic of Haiti. I'm proud to say that the team is being led by Deputy Fire Chief James Powers, a former student of mine, and a member of our Phi Delta Psi Chapter at Moorpark College - the Detanu Vidal.

A PRESENT FROM GARY FREDBURG AND PAUL QUEYREL

Last year (2009) Brother Gary Fredburg brought this photograph of Alpha Chaper during the presidency of Br. Richard Ennis, to Paul Queyrel's Super Bowl party. Paul wanted us all to share it.
How about one of you brave guys listing these noble guys' names for us.
