Brother Vance Meyer was born on the 29th of November in Grand Island, Nebraska. He graduated from Burbank High School in 1956. Vance was initiated into the Phi Delta Psi Fraternity in the Fall of 1957. He served the Brotherhood as Corresponding Secretary of the Mother Chapter.
After completing his studies at Valley College he transferred to California State University Northridge, where he and others founded the Gamma Chapter of Phi Delta Psi. Later, when the University demanded that the Chapter sever its ties with a two-year college Fraternity, he was one of the Founders, and first president of the Pi Kappa Tau Fraternity. That organization in turn became a colony and chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
