THOUGHTS ABOUT Br. ART AROCHA

"I am grieved by the passing of Art. I remember when he lived at the Frat house and shared a room with Joe Sutter and Howard Heitman. They were all big guys and that was where the "heavys" hung. One night Howard, a body builder, and Art were in a sort of disagreement over something. Art was one of the few that would stand up against Howard, who was a forceful personality. Howard was not a dumb guy and backed off when Art stood his ground.
Art took me for a ride somewhere in his new VW Bug one day and I remember how he used the brakes to stop instead of down shifting when we came off the Ventura Freeway off ramp at Whiteoak Blvd. He said it was a lot cheaper to replace brakes then it was to fix a transmission.
We have not seen each other in many years, but it seems like only the other day at Jerry Burns House. He came into town to attend a party. He loved to get together with the "Raiders of the Night" and relive years gone by when we were going to live forever. Art will live forever in our hearts." AL B. Conahan
