David Reed Cox Resident of Danville David Reed Cox, 68, passed away April 21, 2010. Born in Davenport, Iowa on February 19, 1942, he was the eldest son of the late Reed and Bernadine Cox.
David is preceded in death by his son Jason Cox of Danville, CA and his brother Jeff Cox of Edmonds, WA. David graduated from San Jose State with a degree in Industrial Relations. He served in the military army intelligence completing his last two years of service in Ethiopia.
He began his career in food services as an employee of Ralph's Grocery and worked his way through the ranks. He was employed at Food Employers Council as an associate and later as director of Northern California FEC.
David was a longtime member of Diablo Country Club where he enjoyed his passion for golf and good times with friends. He was honored to serve as the club's president in 1982, 1990 and 1991. In his retirement playing golf and visiting the cardiac rehab center took up most of his time.
David is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-three years, Marcia Dorothea (Tambert) Cox of Danville; a brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Debbie Cox of Castaic, CA; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary and Stew Corbert of Valencia, CA, Lynn and Xavier Fernandez of Van Nuys, CA, and Nancy Hurlston of Van Nuys, CA. He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
