Brother Vance Meyer was born on the 29th of
November in Grand Island, Nebraska. He graduated from Burbank High School
in 1956. Vance was initiated into the Phi Delta Psi Fraternity in the Fall of
1957. He served the Brotherhood as Corresponding Secretary of the Mother
Chapter.
After completing his studies at Valley College he transferred to
California State University Northridge, where he and others founded the Gamma
Chapter of Phi Delta Psi. Later, when the University demanded that the Chapter
sever its ties with a two-year college Fraternity, he was one of the Founders,
and first president of the Pi Kappa Tau Fraternity. That organization in turn
became a colony and chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

Vance retired from Pardee Construction Company
in July 2000. He was with the company 34 years and retired as its Chairman.
Pardee was sold to the Weyerhaeuser company in 1969. Vance closed out his
career with the company with a record year in profits. He spends his free time today working
for his church, doing charity work and overseeing his personal investments. Brother Vance lost his wife Sandie in 2012.
Brother Meyer was one of
the leaders in the creation of the current Maple Leaf Endowment Fund and the
re-institution of the Maple Leaf Society.He lives in Malibu, California.
