THE PASSING OF SANDIE MEYER, THE WIFE OF BR. VANCE MEYER

It is with great regret that I share this message with The Brotherhood of Phi Delta Psi.

"My mother, Evon Sandra "Sandie" Meyer, passed away this past Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 1:48 am. She lived a very full life, surrounded by family and friends that loved and continue to love her very much. Unfortunately, she suffered through many years of pain and complicated illnesses and finally her body just couldn't fight anymore. Our family has been so grateful for the love and support my mom and we have all received over the years, especially these past few weeks.
 Mom passed away pain-free and at peace, knowing that she was deeply loved. In celebration of her life, we will be having a memorial service and reception in her honor on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 2:00pm at Palisades Lutheran Church located 15905 Sunset Boulevard, Pacific Palisades.
In lieu of flowers, our family would prefer that contributions be made in her honor to: Cedars-Sinai Cancer Center Circle of Friends, Cedars-Sinai 8700 Beverly Boulevard, Suite 2416 Los Angeles, CA. 90048

Brother Berman was initiated into the Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Psi in the Spring of 1960. He served as the Chapter's President.  Dave and Christine live in Arizona and in Idaho.

A nice thing about Christmas cards are the occasional photographs and holiday letters that get included. Here's a portrait of our Delta Chapter Brother Horace Seely-Brown III, his wife Hood and thier growing family.  Seely was initiated into the Phi Delta Psi in the Spring of 1960 at Los Angeles City College.The Seely-Browns live in Illinois.

The best way to name the individuals is through the two group pictures. First the one with 11 sitting on the wall at Cupids includes: front row lft to Rt - Jerry Olsen,Dick Mlack,Jerry Berns,Tom Montes, Allan Plouff and Clem Boylan. Back row lft to Rt.- Mike Mertens, Rick Glazer(pledged name), Joe Palazola, John Bogdanoff and Joe Riggio.

The smaller group picture in front of the Cupids window includes Don George and Dean Brewster. They may have arrived after the picture taken above. 

Yes you are correct there were 13 brothers gathered just the same as the founding fathers?

Left the business accounting world in 1981 when I became a single parent. My passion for cars led me to open "Carburetors Unlimited" in Simi Valley, Calif. in 1981 and I have been active in this business since then. I moved it to San Diego, Calif. in 1988 and then to Phoenix, AZ in 2005. I have been lucky enough to work on and own most of the types of cars seen on the Barrett Jackson Auctions.
I have one Son who also lives in the Phoenix area. I have two wonderful Grand kids 17 & 18 and a fantastic Daughter-in-Law. They are both successful in Real Estate even in these hard times.
I'm hooked on the outdoors. I'm in a truck and camper in the Mountains as much as I can fishing pole and camera in hand.
Pretty much lost everything due to the real estate mess here in Arizona. National statistics don't really reflect the devaluation happening here. In many areas it is more than 70 %.
It's OK as I'm still healthy and loving what I do. I also know that throughout my life God has never closed a door i needed to be open even if I was unsure which one it was. It is truly amazing what faith can do and I am living proof.
